The 2000s — The Mobile & Digital Revolution
The internet became increasingly accessible through mobile devices.

The 2010s — The Cloud, Data & Platform Revolution
The 2010s were dominated by cloud computing, big data, APIs, platforms and increasingly sophisticated mobile applications.
Companies such as Amazon, Microsoft and Google helped accelerate the move toward cloud-based infrastructure and services.
Businesses no longer needed to purchase all their computing infrastructure upfront.
They could consume computing as a service.
At the same time:
Data became the new strategic asset.
Organizations began collecting enormous amounts of information about customers, transactions, devices and behaviour.
Social platforms also fundamentally changed communication.
Impact on humankind:
We moved from simply being connected to becoming data-generating individuals.
Every search, transaction, location, click and interaction could potentially generate data.
The 2020s — The AI Revolution
And now we are entering perhaps the most profound transformation yet.
Artificial intelligence is moving from performing predefined tasks toward systems capable of reasoning, generating content, understanding language and assisting humans with complex work.
Generative AI, large language models, AI agents, computer vision and multimodal AI are changing how we interact with technology.
The interface is changing again.
For decades, we learned to communicate with computers through:
Commands → Menus → Graphical interfaces → Touch → Voice → Natural language
We can now increasingly simply tell the computer what we want.
This represents a significant shift.
Instead of humans learning how computers work, computers are increasingly learning how humans communicate.

Technology has given us extraordinary capabilities.
We can communicate instantly across continents, access almost unlimited information, conduct financial transactions from a phone, work remotely, diagnose diseases using advanced technology, explore space and use AI to augment human capabilities.
But every revolution has also introduced new challenges.
